"All children are Artists"---Pablo Picasso
The elementary art program is devoted to nurturing creativity and dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the arts and an awareness of the world.
Art is not just child’s play. When making art, children engage all of their senses and turn their creative energy into beautiful artworks. Art has a major impact on academic performance in many ways. While creating art, children develop their imagination, cognitive skills, problem-solving skills, fine motor skills, focusing, listening, and patience.
I enjoy about being part of the learning process that children experience at Medford Area Elementary School and Stetsonville Elementary School. I try to provide students with skills to capture various aspects of the world through art. We study art throughout history and art from various world cultures. The students here are so creative and inspiring! Seeing the children's growth over time and their delight when learning new things is one of the most rewarding parts of working with children.
As an art teacher, I strive to provide students with fun, educational experiences where each student can be creative, thoughtful, and develop high levels of confidence. My classroom offers a positive atmosphere that encourages uniqueness and imagination through the use of a wide variety of mediums.
